Day1: Start trekking east of Lalibela to Addi-Dega (community house, 4 to 5 trekking hours) on the way watch the friendly endemic animal (Gelada Baboons) particularly around Hudad and also for Lammergeyer and around 150 different species of birds can be seen. At Addi Dega you will be welcomed by local villagers and massage your feet at part of their tradition welcoming guests. In Addi Dega  you will explore and experience how the remote typical Ethiopian live in the countryside.  Overnight at Adi-Dega community house.

Day 2  Trek back to Lalibela, on the same way, or via MekinaMedhanieAlem,

Day2: After having breakfast at Addi Dega heading to Abune-Yosef (Rim Gedel, the top of Abune Yosef Mountains at an altitude of 4,200 , the third highest in Ethiopia).   We explore the massive mountains chains of Tinishu Zigit, Tiliku ZIgit and Rim Gedel (4200).  While trekking, we pass through remote countryside villages and experience, the real life of Ethiopian living in the countryside. Total trekking hours is 6 to 7 hours Overnight Tigu Kebel( Eco Lodge)near Abune Yosef Mountains.

Day 3. Trek back to Lalibela, on the same way, or via MekinaMedhanieAlem,on the way a visit to communities farm in the age old way with ox-drawn ploughs.

Day 3: Trekking downward to the monastery church of YimrehaneKirstos via Degosach. Yimrehane Kirsots church considered to be the best church outside Lalibela which is built under a massive natural cave. Today trekking hours 3-4 hours.    overnight YimrehaneKirstos at community lodge.

Day 4: Trekking to Degosach in our way back to Lalibela.  On our way back, visit to Arbatu Ensesa, one of the semi monolithic churches build 15 hundred years ago.  walk via Arbatu Ensesa and Adefa. A stop over at Adefa (the capital city of the Zagwe dynasty for more than 3 hundreds years).  Here there are Jews communities and an opportunity to see their works. Most of them are blacksmith, craftsman etc.   Overnight Lalibela, Halle Hotel, Lalibela.

Abuen Yosef Mountains.

Abune-Yosef Mountains, has diverse topography that includes several high plateaus surrounded by gigantic eroded abysses and is home to one of the highest mountains in Ethiopia, Abune Yosef is 40KM from Lalibela.

The Abune Yosef Afro-montane Forest is amongst Ethiopia’s most pristine and secluded natural wonders, offering breathtaking views, endemic birds, and wildlife. Regarding Wildlife, you will see two of Ethiopia’s endemic animals, the Gelada baboon and the Ethiopian Wolf.

Of the 860 species of birds found in Ethiopia over 220 have been identified on the Abune Yoseph and 15 of them are endemic to Ethiopia
